    Godd Afternoon

    I think that in the politics nobody knows what happens, I think that alone the own Alvaro Uribe knows that it does, if it has links with the armed groups or not, but if I was like that, they would notice it but nothing would be done, so already one has seen in the history that many senators have had his position, taken decisions and operated as it is said vulgarly " under the table "

  5. I think that every person has the right to defend themselves and to prove their inocence. If Mr Uribe is inocent he could keep his senate position if not he have to pay according to the colombian laws

    No, Colombia is democratic republic in which citizens have inalienable rights. People are innocent until justice says otherwise. Senator Uribe can’t be expelled from senate and shouldn’t quit unless the Justice system orders him to do so. People could investigate him and express their opinions but his constitutional rights like the ones from everyone else must be respected.

  8. If there is any chance that Uribe is inocent, we should let him be part of our politics, but there is not. His concetions with this people is a fact. So, someone who has that kind of conections should no have any participation in the goverment.

  10. as far as i'm concerned, Alvaro Uribe is not only supposed to keep links with paramlitary armed groups but also to be responsable of the series of criminal acts known as "falsos positivos", so due to that we should know about what is happening in our politics because this facts might afect us all. i think Alvaro Uribe must give up his position in goverment because his actions are perjudicious to the people.

  11. I think any politician being investigated for any kind of illegal or delinquent activities should turn in his or her resignation. Politics must be handled by people with real interest on WE the people. Politics is not a game, people really get harmed, broke or dead when you let criminals get to a power position.
    It would be nice having for once an honest public officer.

    I believe Alvaro Uribe Velez should give up his senate position, because someone who has been linked in the past with outlaw organizations who have been in charge of murdering and massacring thousands of Colombians shouldn't get the privilege of being in a position of such power.

    If you have to give up the senate, because, Alvaro Uribe Vélez could have links with paramilitaries,because, during his tenure the para-politics scandal occurs, he should explain,because in their government most politicians had ties to the paramilitaries, government can investigate Alvaro Uribe and should investigate the source of their money and land.

    He shoulnd't give up his position, i mean, he did a pretty good job when he was president and let's be honest, there's a lot of people being corrupt right now in our goberment so we can't complain about Alvaro Velez.
    We can take as example Gustavo Petro, he did some mistakes early on, but he really did a huge change compared to other mayors tho

  19. Cenic is an organization in Washington that investigates several units of work.
    If Alvaro Uribe Velez is now on the list of corrupt, it is because this organization has strong investigations against him. He's a former president and are serious such accusations without having a verification of this or concrete investigation.
    He must prove his innocence to keep in the senate. If he can't prove his innocence, he wouldn't be a person to trust for our government.

  20. I would believe that the senator should pay for what he did there, if he resignation to his post, I do not know if we would get better results might be the answer, but I think there are better ways to correct What he did.

  22. He has not yet been able to prove to former president alvaro uribe now senator of the republic of colombia the alleged connections with links with paramilitary groups, so he has not been able to disassociate himself from the senate

It would be the right thing for him to quit his position, because someone who has been associated with the paramilitary groups should not have anything to do with the government, or have a say on important decisions, it is a shame that someone with such kind of precedent gets to work on high positions without a political and social trial.

    In my position, I think we should not slander Senator Álvaro Uribe because in his presidential term he had repaired with the paramilitaries to have peace agreements that many people wanted, but people could not overcome that he did not reach an agreement and that he did not have agreements for The proposed peace agreements of the saints, we could highlight his efforts in his time of president because now this country is in failure, the false insults must be proven to lift charges against now ex-president.

  26. I think, that if these links are proven by law, Alvaro Uribe should resign because in Congress we need integral politicians. Corruption has greatly affected our country and if, we want peace, we could to set an example, starting with our leaders

    Alvaro Uribe Vélez should give up to being a senator, because it is evident that has had nexuses with groups armed as the paramilitary ones, the questions are clear: from where went out the quantity from money and lands that possesses nowadays? The lands are so extensive that they occupy hectares.

  29. Our country's law says that someone is innocent until proven guilty, but on the other hand I think should renounce his position because the accusation that is presented is serious, and our country need to peace of mind before the subject

Independenthy, of the work that the performs at this momento, if his behavior must have described in the article, he should answer for it, in one way or another he can perform the job wants (and justice allows), being clear that it can be... it should not have been proposed or taken in to acoount for a public office. Your moral is that which demotes if it renounces or not, beyond what public opinión desired.

  31. Yes, he must give up his senate position, part of his family were charged for the same reason as him as well. His offsrping was charged for enriching themselves illicitly. A person who "represnts" the people of a whole country should -at least- be a honest person

I CAN say That the former President ALVARO URIBE SHOULD Rethink respond for all this kind of accusations Because if he's accused it must be for something I think he COULD be punished, he MIGHT not Continue your charge If these imputations are approved, i bilieve that URIBE NEED a little away from the government while clarifying the situation and also for avoid more problems,he SHALL Show your Innocence and if so I think He must continue his charge, I do not consider him a bad politician when he was President he DID good things as it was to fight with the same guerrilla, He HAS every right to work only if he's innocent and if HAS not committed these serious crimes

  35. it is obvious that alvaro uribe has relations with paramilitary groups and in my opinion he should not be in the Senate since it is an aid to these paramilitary groups which together with alvaro uribe have done a lot of damage to colombia and can continue to do more if alvaro uribe is still in the senate

  38. In my position Alvaro Uribe shouldn´t be senator, because he has connections with the paramilitary groups, but in the moment the government must to make an investigation about his actions in his presidency, now he can´t give the position because until now the acusations don´t have witnesses.

  39. According to the charges, he just not has connections with “paramilitary” groups; he also was involved with drug trafficker and their suspicious activities. He must give up his Senate position, because he not has been punished. And he is making decisions for the countries as he want, how could we now that he is not continue relating with those people, if he could did in the present without any problem, what stop him now. The government must continue the investigation and Uribe must pass away of his place in the Senate and should confess.

  40. I think the best way for teach people to do the rigth things is give them an example, so in this order of ideas I will not support Alvaro Uribe in his job like a senator, also I think that for respect to the country he must to give up with his senate position.

  41. In my opinion, Mr. Uribe should not giveup his position as a senator, because it would be convenient for him, because his investigations would no longer be carried out by the supreme court, but would become the responsibility of the prosecution office.
